Special Events! CHOIR Will Return for Easter!
Living Hope Lutheran Church, Kennsaw, GA
Let me tell you about the privilege I had to enjoy the sounds of the Living Hope Church Voices as they prepared for their Musical drama, “The Ornament.”
The room was warm, darkened and soft with the dim glow of twilight lighting, to set the tone for the production. A bare black stage, nondescript shadowed faces, regular people, regular clothes, under the soft yellow of a simple lit cross on the back wall. Then amongst all the calm silence from the seemingly modest choir, came exploding like fireworks: sheer echoes of Aretha Franklin caliber character soul and joy! A triumphant sounding in the night! Gabriel blowing his horn! I was blown away!
The room came to brilliant loud life!
Sweet sounds and songs of praise, solos and innovative mixes of favorites for the blessed season. When you hear the The Ornament Choir belt out a group note you simply hold onto your seat!
Laughter and devotion of fellowship, with the pure love of God and worship are at the core of each and every heart-filled voice.
It was pleasure to witness the joy on all the singer's faces. What greater gift than sharing the love of God's gift to us through his son Jesus than with music. The meaning of Christmas personified by the generous participation of the choir sharing their blessings of joyous-song, and voice with others.
True gifts of love don't cost money. The more you give away, the bigger the love grows.
A lot of hard work and preparation went into the presentation of the music. Adjustments of background sound, microphones, echo projection. Soloists finding their mark.
All there dedicated, and work hard to assure those attending the musical presentation have the utmost enjoyment of watching without ever understanding all the little details to make the celebration as flawless as God allows.
Teamwork of the choir, each knowing their own level of depth to enhance or pull back so as not to drown out the soloist. An amazing witnessing to the flow and communication of many individuals coming together as one voice.
Encouragement came from Chaz, the directorial leader of the production. He lit a fire already burning in everyone even higher.
“Passion and joy-filled worship is always beautiful to God,” he told them, “Joyful Noise!”
Chaz demonstrates the leadership of one led by God by allowing all the gifts of others to manifest themselves in the direction God is calling them to go. There are no egos here in this beautiful spirit-filled choir. One goal: sing praise.
Chaz went on to tell the story of David, and how the king danced and sang in the streets with his joyous heart.
“David put himself out there celebrating the presence of God,” Chaz tells the choir, “Singing is being free to worship.”
I heard all heart sung forth that night. People like you and I dear reader, all different degrees of talent, but all with one goal: to be heard by God.
In doing so, those listening and watching feel the relationship of those singing with the Lord. A beauty beyond this writer's simple explanation to convey.
The air was charged.
The worship through songs and music I witnessed only showed me indeed, there is still humanity left in the world. It just starts with one joyful voice, then suddenly you have a choir.
