Writers Group Manual
This featured manual tool is put forth for new writers in mind. As a cofounder of the shared writers group, Writers of Like Mind, I know for a fact there are many talented people in the world with creative gifts of the written word!
Most who are just venturing into the varied field ask me, how do you do it?
My answer is simply this: just write.
That's all you have to do to begin the journey. This is not rocket science (unless you are writing a book on the subject.)
Place those words on paper or type the keys into the computer. It should be fun, it should flow, it should come easy—but that does not mean it gets any easier.
Get your idea down. The first draft is simply that. the first draft. Even if your progress in one chapter at a time, one sentence, one word. Suddenly you will discover a story has been achieved. That is when you address spelling, grammar, flow, imagery. If you can read the story you have created, and it is as if a movie is playing in your head, well then you have done it.
A writer must stay true to their Writer's Voice.
Do not ever compromise on what that voice is telling you. If you can not bare your soul, say what you mean; mean what you say, on paper, then you have not stayed true to the story blooming from deep within you, which makes it unique to your Writer's Voice, and yours alone. It does not matter what others say concerning the story, unless of course it is your editor.

This book was designed to help you start your own writers group when you can't find one in which to join for writing support. I can not emphasize how important it is to be with other writers as you go on the journey to get your books out there. Writers think like writers and give each other valuable information, as well as encouragement. The writing part is easy for most of us. It is the rest of it that comes later as you succeed, where you need a good support group of positive thinking people.
I for one, do not allow negative people or gossipers around me or in my home. Sounds harsh, I know, but making hard decisions on the priorities of living life, also make you a good writer when you need to convey the story in your head to the paper. Stay true to your beliefs, the idea that makes your story tic. Practice what you preach and mean what you say. Write the truth of what is in your soul and you can not go wrong. Successful writers are strong, and it takes sacrifice and character to reach for the publishing brass ring. Never give up. There is nothing more satisfying after a year or two of hard work, than seeing and holding that first book in your hand.
